Print size at professional printers with jpegs

Discussion in 'Photoshop Tutorials' started by Bill and Lisa, May 28, 2005.

  1. i would like to know how to save my photos so that when I submit them for
printing, I can get everything from wallets to 11 x 17 to print the same,
and cannot seem to get this right. I asked this question last week, but for
some reason, everythin I posted and the replies on that date and the next
couple days did not show up on the server. Thanks for any help. Bill

What do you mean by "print the same"?

  3. To print without any auto cropping to the photo.

You can't. The aspect ratio is different between various print sizes so
different cropping will occur for different aspect ratios.

To control cropping you will need a separate image file for each aspect
    ratio.

  5. Thanks Tom, that is what I was wondering. I usually print my own, but am
switching to a pro lab for quality and cost reasons. Thank You, Bill

you could also ask for "full original" on the size paper, this will leave
some white border on the paper but the image won't have to be cropped.

OP! Does your printer dialog have a "shrink to fit" option? Look for that.
