Printing Digital Pics Question

Discussion in 'Photography' started by Anthony and Elizabeth Borge, Jul 12, 2003.

  1. Hello,

I have an Olympus Camedia D40 zoom. I always save pictures to a CD and then
take to Costco or Sam's Club for printing. The picture quality has always
come out perfect...until two days ago....

Recently, the pictures (up to 5x7) came back like they were missing pixels
or something. Thinking it was Sam's Club's equipment fault, I printed out
on an HP 940C printer and the quality was similar (very poor). I e-mailed a
picture to a friend and the copy she printed out was bad, too.

Yet, when looking at the camera's minitor, the photos look crisp and
perfect. Even when viewing the pictures on Camedia Master, they look
perfect. Something is going wrong somewhere.

I haven't taken the smart media card itself to Sam's (that is the next
option), but I would like to know what has gone wrong, or what I am doing
    wrong.

    Thanks for any help,
    Elizabeth

    The screen is most probably 800 X 600 or 1024 X 786, the size of a 7 X 5
print is 2100 X 1500 at 300dpi, generally if the picture at 100% size fits
on the screen the print out won't look very good, it needs to be bigger.
