i have an olympus stylus digital camera. when i open the lens there is
no display on the screen. i can take a picture using the view finder.
i can also display the photos on the card on the screen. the battery
indicator shows full charge. what could the problem be?

Is this a new camera, or one that you have been using for a while?

If it is one that you have been using for a while and the screen has
suddenly gon dead, I'd guess something fried inside the camera.

If it is a new one and you aren't very familiar with it, I'm thinking that
you need to press one of the buttons (probably labelled Display (or
something similar) in order to cycle through the various display modes.

On my Canon A720, there are three modes, display on with icons, display on
    without icons, and display off.

Pressing the Display button cycles through the modes and lets the operator
choose whatever mode is most suitable for the moment.

    Good Luck,
    Dudley

and i didn't do it. just a fluke i guess. i can't use caps because my
cat is sleeping on my left arm.

Hey Mike, don't type that too loud, my dog is sleeping and I don't want her
    to wake up. Smile...

    Take Care,
