can some one tell me why 140 slide carousels do not fit a Kodak 550 projector? Or if they will, how to make them do so. Thank

The 140 trays only fit the 700, 800 and 900 series

because you have to realize the std tray was 80 and that is the only one
    that will fit the 550

    sorry...paraphrasing from my dad

You still using a Kodak 550 slide projector it must be the best part of 40
years old. As for trays the 80 slide tray is the correct tray due the
mechanic of the 550. The 140 slide tray is for later projectors like the
Ektagaphic, Ektapro and the Audioviewer type projecters. These
projectors will accept both type of trays (80 or 140).

  4. I tried to stay away from the 140s. They seemed to jam easily.
