    Hi there,

I am trying to save an image that I created as a TIFF. When I go to save
it, I get a pop-up telling me I do not have permission to open this file. I
am trying to save it on a CD-RW.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I am using PS 6.01. I have to get
this ready for work tomorrow. Any help is appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

thanks, makes sense. I thought CD-RW were like any normal save. I guess
    not.

Nope. To save to a CD-RW, a special packet writing piece of software
must be running on your system -- and when it is, there's a little
icon in the system tray. Unfortunately, this software allows you to
ONLY copy a file to the CD-RW. (With Nero Burning Rom, the program is
called InCD and the tray icon changes from a red arrow to a green
arrow when a formatted CD-RW is in the drive.)

There are some utilities which will allow the CD-RW
drive/disk combination to be used like an ordinary drive:
In-CD from Nero, and Roxio's Direct CD.

I never had a problem with it when it was Adaptec's. Mind you, from
experience, I wouldn't use anything Roxio produced anyway.
