    Hi

I have several .rm clips with the size 320 x 240 which I want to
convert efficiently to mpeg-2 (PAL DVD)

My first try looked like this:
    1. using EO video to convert the file to an .avi with same size
    2. using TMPGEnc to convert the .avi to mpeg-2

The options of EO video are quite easy, there aren't so much.
But with TMPGEnc I don't know which "Rate control mode" to choose?
VBR_CQ or CQ? Which Bitrate, which Quality?
My first try was with VBR_CQ. Appling different CQ values resulted in
files of same size (and quality). What is the meaning of CQ?

Is there any tool, any table or a rule of thumb to calculate these
parameters from parameters of teh original file?

    Regards, Paul
