Recording time lapse to hard drive (for home security)

    After I attach a webcam type usb camera to my pc, is there any
    software that'd enable me to save one image per second to the hard
    drive?
    Getting more advanced, is there any software that'd automatically
    switch sequentially between several cameras, and do the same for each
    of them?
