Recovering data from a defective Sony memory stick?

    Hi there,

My Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo stopped working recently. Tried it in other
cameras and USB reader devices... nothing. I get C:13:01 error on my camera.
I can't format it either. Seems completely dead.

Anyway I would still like to recover some of the pix on it... is it
technically possible? Is there a professional service to do this?

    Thanks.

I could probably recover it but I fear I'm to far away from you.
I even recovered some USB stick holders that got stuck in doors and what
    not.

I recommend you plug the card into an internal card reader or a USB 2.0
enabled one. Aslo the system must use preferably FAT32 on its system and
be running something less than XP and Win 2000 but then you can try a
program like FinalData recovery for FAT32 .

You can also try EasyRecovery FAT32 but dont get the ones from freeware
sites because their not real. Check out this link
    http://www.ontrack.com/software/

They have a free version too which I couldnt see right now. It's slow but
    does the job good.

    Hope it helps.
