I applaud your response. Christ this is the stuff i have been waiting to
hear so i can get some ideas about the topic i posted! I appreciate your
time in this discussion; i do not appreciate mindless irrelevent bullshit
from bullock brains with a keyboard over there. Thanks!

I have bought several refurbished items over the last few years from B&H
Photo and would not hesitate to do so again. A Canon D30, a 100-400IS, a
film scanner, and probably a couple more things I don't remember. All were
absolutely as new except for the box stamped "refurbished". All came with a
6 month B&H warranty and all have worked perfectly. The price was very good
too, around what used would have cost.

Thank you for the response. I bought a 20D with the lens and some memory for
$1231from a company in Romania and I paid for it with Western Union....LOL
no just kidding! The company is out of Minneapolis and they even pay for
shipping for this Canon Factory refurbished camera! No tax! 15 Month
warranty! So hopefully I did good! I will let everyone know how this saga
    unfolds! Thanks again!

  4. To Canon UK, the terms "refurbished" and "faulty" are synonymous. I have
    sold "B Stock" 10Ds, 300Ds, EOS-30s and EOS-300s and seen a great number of
them returned. The 300Ds were the worst offenders- many of them came back
with one problem or another inside the offered 6 month warranty period.

I think i'd be more inclined to buy secondhand from a reputable dealer than
refurb. The two big UK retailers offer 12 month warranty on used gear, I
don't know about stores in other countries.

I notice Canon UK sell a fair bit of refurbished stock through eBay. I also
notice they have an poor feedback rating (98.4%) :eek:/
