I had that with a dead sensor on my Minolta 7hi. But as it was a known fault
I got it replaced for free by Sony otherwise I think the cost would be
Prohibitive. What with new technologies at lower prices, Might be time to
    look at a new body

  2. Hello Duncan.

    Any likelihood of finding a second-hand S2?

Well it had to happen at some point my Fuji S2 Pro has stopped writing to
the card. I know it's the camera as I tested the card in another camera and
the Fuji reads the images it just doesn't write them. All batteries are new
and does the same on mains.

Anyone know of someone who will look at it and give me an idea of what it
    will cost or worth doing?

Or just consigning it to the graveyard and put the money towards a new one.

Thank you I have just had the dpreview newsletter arrive and saw the D300
but since the D3 has a full size sensor it's even more interesting.

However I'll wait until the initial flurry has died down and await the full
results. And of course a price drop!

My feelings are that it's a Dodo now and that I should just cut my loses and
find a new body rather than spending good money into an older spec.

I feel gutted writing off the £700 it cost when I bought it but I'm not
about to buy a 2nd hand body again. So I will just have to bite the bullet
and opt for a Nikon D200 with a couple of digital lenses. Or at least a wide
angle digital zoom and use my film lenses from my F4 and F5 bodies for the
tele end given I get the multiplier with them.

I'm not in any hurry so maybe there will be an upgrade of a D200x version
that will arrive when I'm ready.
