Replacement for Pentax Optio 550 Lumix FS10/16 or Ixus 115/220 HS?

  1. After many years of trusty service my Pentax Optio 550 has succumbed to
an injury sustained when it hit the ground with me recently.

Been looking for a replacement, and - after reading numerous reviews -
have narrowed the search down to:

Panasonic Lumix FS10 or (later version) FS16
Canon Ixus 115 HS or 220 HS

    - the latter being some 80% pricier than the former.

The Lumix seem to do all that I want to do (social & holiday) - no video -
but the Ixus seems to do rather better with colour & definition rendering.

Both the Lumix FS10 and Ixus 220 had numerous glowing reports, and I am
leaning towards the Ixus, but was disconcerted to see references to lens
mechanism failure reports in its reviews.

I would be grareful for any feedback w.r.t. any of these cameras, or
suggestions to look at certain others.
