    Hi,

sorry if this is not the right group to ask this, i could really see
    anywhere else.

What do the codes on the back of digital photos actualy mean?

I've recently bought signed photo. It came with a second photo showing the
first one being signed. The from what you can make out both signatures do
    seem to match up.

However its the codes on the back of the 2 prints seem a bit odd

the signed photo has this on the back.

    932098
    m-b-2.jp FOSTER9320

and the photo of it being signed has this on the back

    932091
    02_21_02 FOSTER9320

its the 91 and 98 that have me suspicious. surely if the the signature is
    genuine
the numbers at least be other way around? as this seems to suggest that
the signed photo was printed after the photo of it being signed?

however as i have no idea what these codes mean i could be completely
    wrong!

So i figured I'd try to get some more info before i go complaining to the
    guy who sold me it.

(btw, its on Kodak paper(dont know if that helps), but ive no idea where
    it was printed)

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

    Simon.

If the batch of digital prints I ordered online a while ago are anything to
go by, you can't deduce anything from the backprint. It's probably just a
printing job number, not a file number, and might only signify they were
    printed at different times.
