Just recently purchased a Kodak DX6440
Easyshare wont install wihout error msg's
    and Safe mode.
Have the EasyShare cd, but how do I extract
the relevent drivers, or can someone send them to me.
Should say I know how to extract, but where to find
    on cd??
If I install camera using driver, I can use explorer so
memory card is just another drive.

    Any help appreciated....Ian

    Yes, a good idea.
But would need the card to be removed from the camera.
Would prefer usb from the camera, but we cant
    always have what we prefer.
Will first exhaust other options, then go to reader.

    Thanks...Ian

Unfortunately their drivers are packaged in their
    "EasyShare" software, not separately.
Thats what wont run on my PC.

    Thanks...Ian

Removing the card is preferable to having to plug the camera in and have
a cord dangling during the transfer. After the second time I nearly
knocked the camera off the computer desk by 'snagging' the cable, I went
to a card reader. MUCH more convenient.[/QUOTE]

My camera is placed on a magazine on the floor, next to the wall and
next to the computer desk. No dangling cable to catch, no chance for me
to knock the camera off of a desk.

  5. please try to run the internet install from www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw

If that won't install, I'd be interested in what kind of PC you have, what
OS, etc. Are you getting an error message? If so, what is it?

Also, install errors are linked to the web help via the error codes. If you
have an error code coming up during install, click on that link and the web
site will tell you if we know of that error code, what is causing it and how
    to potentially fix it.
