Reset shot counter on Nikon D50?

  1. Can the photo shot counter be reset to zero? Default settings doesn't do
    it.

  2. I surely hope it cannot be reset. After all that would be like resetting the
odometer on a car. And you wouldn't do that, either, would you?

I think the OP was referring to the naming numeric, not the actual shot
    counter.

    most likely he was.

to reset it to 0 with every card, disable the file number sequence menu
choice in the settings menu group. otherwise, the file name will
    increment.

  5. Well, I am not second guessing what he might have meant. He
*very*explicitely* asked for the shot counter.

If that's not what he meant but indeed the numbering schema for the files
then I suggest Reading The Fine Manual, page 73.

Well, if we want to go that route, then your answer is based on the
shutter actuation counter, not a 'shot' counter.. So you'd be wrong.

Since he hit a smudgy patch in his terminology, I gave him the benefit
    of the doubt.

    YMMV however.

Thank you "nospam". Yours was a breath of fresh air. A simple concise,
    accurate, factual
answer to the person who needed the information.
As for the others, the bullshitters, obfuscaters and similar useless
characters I am removing them so I don't have to look at them on my
    computer again!
