    Hi guys,

I've had a Canon EOS Rebel XS for several years now and have always used the
fully automatic mode. I know almost nothing about photography, but I'd like
to learn the basics. What resources do you recommend, such as web sites and
    books aimed at beginners?

  2. or a book store. The basics for taking photos (shutter, f-stop, frmaing the
picture, etc.) are the same for film and digital photography. Many of the
darkroom operations are similar, such as cropping, even though the methods
    are different.
