Review of Fuji FinePix E900 with sample photos

  1. This fall my Nikon 990 digital camera died its final death and I have
been hunting for a replacement since. Last Friday I got a FujiFilm
FinePix E900 digital camera. I've shot about 1,000 pictures with it and
written up a review with some sample photos. In a nutshell I like the
camera. It is not perfect, what is, but it is an excellent small pocket
camera with full manual and automatic settings and I'm glad I got it.
Very fast shutter response - great for capturing children and animals.

Pros: Size, price, photo quality, zoom, speed, color, flash
Cons: Focus is not as snappy as it was on my Nikon 990

  2. What kind of death did your 990 die? About how many pictures did you
take with it? Just asking as I have an 880 from the same era, mine has
    about 6000 shots on it.

I have many camera's...But for point and shoot...The 4500 is simply the
best...Nikon should never stop that series....

    Spring in 2 weeks!

  4. I took a little over 26,000 photos with my Nikon CoolPix 990 before it
finally croked for the last time. I had fixed it four times, five if
out count the second fix of the same thing. Battery door latch, rocker
switch contacts, broken trace wire, lens element misalignment. Finally
the zoom motor gears stripped and I decided it was just too much. I've
saved it incase of an apocolyps in which case maybe I'll fix it
    again... :)

i have a nikon 995 which has died at about 15,000 shots
flash went first now the rocker controls are dodgy
so its not really dead it needs repair
i think it will be cheaper for me to buy a gently used 995
than to take it in for repair as i see some very cheap now just over
    100 bucks for example
