Seems like this is a bad year to be a great photographer - they're dropping
like flies at the minute. Sad.

Just glad there are still lots of exciting new young photographers coming up
to provide the 'greats' of the future.

Do you mean (Dr.) Marvin Monroe, from the Simpsons?

Actually, he died several seasons ago...

    Excelsior, you fatheads!

....more importantly, at 81 he died while working on a photography project. That
is a testament to his life's work in photography and probably he would be happy
    with that ending ...

    Cheers,
    Alan

This endless joy about typos... Aren't they always fun?

I wonder what kind of camera he used and if it wasn't autofocus, would
switching have improved his work? (Probably not).

    First JFK and now Avedon.

    I'm seeing a pattern here.

Yeah, anyone who knew Marilyn Monroe has a limited lifespan. They die
sooner or later. However, since she died 42 years ago, later is sooner
    more and more.
I expect that Arthur Miller (89), Tony Curtis, Jane Russell and Cyd
Charisse are all good candidates for the office dead pool, as is her
first husband, whose name I can't think of now. George Barris, Bert
Stern are also pretty old as is Eve Arnold.

Based on Anni's two examples, they'll improve their odds if they stay away
    from Texas.

HCB knew here too, of course, though he didn't die in Texas.
