Roxio Ver 7 is a pain (vs Ver 6)

  1. I've just 'upgraded' from Roxio EZ CD Creator Ver 6 to Ver 7.

While 7 can do more 'stuff' than 6, I am really dissapointed in the way it
does it. Under 6 the DVD creation software gave me the ability to trim
video clips both at the ends and in the middle (cut the clip, then trim the
end from the new section) This feature (cut clip in middle) is gone from
the DVD creation software in 7 .. it was moved to another program in the
    suite. (a royal pain)

ALSO, under 6 when I burned mpgs to VCD ... if I did no editing of my clip
(untouched from the capture device .. ATI AIW Radeon 7500) it would render
the clip at 1000 to 1500 frames per second. If I had edited the file, it
would render at something like 25 frames per second. OK, no problem ..
quite a lot of the TV shows I record to VCD I've editied "on the fly" and
don't need further editing. BUT, if I'm not there when recording I'll need
to edit out the commercials so the cut function mentioned above is needed.

Version 7 renders ALL my files at the slow speed (don't know exactly .. it
no longer tells me how fast it's working) This is also a pain. I wonder it
I can "tweak" my capture settings to eliminate this, or will it now *always*
    render at the slow speed?

I agree. Roxio 7 is junk. It's a dreadful piece of software. I went straight
back to Roxio 6 too and so have many others.
