I've just got a few minutes runtime with the roxio videowave software that
came bundled on my new Dell.

It seems that the editing section ("Storyline Editor"?) will only let me
trim from the beginning and end of video clips, and will not let me clip
sections from the middle. Am I missing something, or did they do that on

It seems crazy. On a long clip, of course there are things to remove. Or
do they expect you to break a long recording into smaller clips? Do they
give you a tool for that? If they can't do it, do I have to buy another
package to do something this simple?

I didn't get a printed manual. The software was preloaded on my new Dell.
I did look at the online help before I asked my question though. Under
editing, it only describes a "trim" feature. This snippet gives you the

"The Mark Start button tells Movie Creator to start the video at a point
that is after the clip's actual beginning. The Mark End button tells Movie
Creator to finish the video before the clip's actual end. This lets you
easily discard any unwanted video near the beginning or end of a clip."

This is an easy one, although it's been a while since I used
VideoWave. Use the "Split Clip" feature to cut before and after the
video you want to remove. then just delete the frame from the
storyboard. The help file should have some info about the split clip
