My camera only saves as JPG. Can I save it to another format
(lossless type) and then will it reamin stable (lossless)? Just
    wondering???

Tiff is good. Even with LZW it is lossless.

Well, yes. That's the point of "lossless".

However, once saved into JPEG, the image doesn't lose anything again unless
you re-save it in a lossy format. Images don't degrade unless you do
    something to them.

  4. To restate,
    o you download photo.jpg
o you edit this file in some application
o don't resave as newphoto.jpg (though most of us wouldn't be able to see
    the
    degradation); instead, 'Save As' newversion.tif.
o edit the tif, and only go back to the jpg if you mess up the tif.
