Hi All. I just called Nikon USA looking for a replacement flash foot
assembly (not just the actual foot part), and they tell me the two
assemblies have different part numbers. Reasonable enough but I'm thinking
that they are interchangeable. The SB-28 has silver contacts and the SB-28DX
has gold contacts, but beyond that, I can't see how they would be any
different. They have only the actual foot (the part that usually breaks) for
the SB-28 but have the entire lower assembly for the DX model (a much easier
fix). So my question is, are they in fact interchangeable? The same 4 screws
to attach the assembly plus a small internal connector? TIA
