    Hello

I am looking for a simple scanner I can use to scan graded assignments and
other miscellaneous documents (8 1/2 x 11 inches) into PDF format.

I might also want to scan useful articles from magazines I subscribe to and
store them in electronic format on my laptop.

Would appreciate suggestions for scanners that can scan in black and white
    as well as in color.

    Thanks a bunch.

Highly recommend some of the simple Canon scanners - very small - run
off of USB - cheap - work very well

Epson also has low-cost scanners, like Perfection 3490 photo (90 euros in
France, maybe $70). Epson provides functions to directly make PDF document
from scan, only pushing one button. All you need !

I've just bought one, and waiting for it ;o)
