shadow detail.

    Can anyone help.?
    l am having a problem printing,, l use ps 7.01, and an Epson 1290 printer ,
    everything was fine up to a few days ago when , the shadows ,or should l
    say the black on the paper started to go green, l have cleaned the jets
    several time and the test pattern is fine ,
    the photographs are 100% correct , but not when some one has a black jacket
    on ,it looks like the jacket is made of shinny silk .greenish,,

    It's only a guess - well 5 actually :)
    (1) if you're talking about photographs you're probably scanning them in -
    have you changed your scanner settings, cleaned the glass, started using
    different film etc etc.
    (2) If you're using a digital camera have you changed the settings, cleaned
    the lens etc etc
    (3) have you changed your printer profile
    (4) are you using different printer paper
    (5) are you *sure* your ink isn't running low

    Certainly this could be a printer profiling problem, but it's possible your
    light magenta is out.

    It's hard to tell visually when this happens, but if you see bands of green
    that's a good indicator of an empty cart. Try swapping in a new color
    cartridge and see if the problem goes away.
