Should Canon XL1s only use Canon Mini DV Cleaning Tape for cleaning?

    Are there any reasons/advantages to using the Canon brand Mini DV
    cleaning tape for the Canon XL1s versus using other brand cleaning
    tapes?

    There certainly is.

    Canon wants your $$$$

    Other than that there is absolutely no reason.
