Had a look at all the comments re Hugo So, and have read his prices on the
fred Miranda site. Anyway, he states that he is unsure how Sigma handles
    warranties on lenses.

Does anyone here have experience with Sigma warranties on items bought from
    Hong Kong?

I doesn't really matter if you have to send it back. 3 days each way
according to Warren anyway... Lenses are fairly reliable. The Early 120~300
2.8 lenses had a problem with the zoom ring siezing but otherwise, I don't
know of too many warranty problems with them.

I agree it isn't a major concern, however, I did have a problem with my
70-200/f4L after a couple of weeks. It was fixed under warranty, and so no
pain to me (I was also travelling on work during the fix time, so I didn't
    miss the lens).

However, I reckon I would have to factor in part of the cost of either
return to HK (both ways) or a service here in the purchase price, when
    making the decision.

Some people will say, You get what you pay for, even when you buy overseas!
However, HugoSo has been a real pleasure to deal with. but why not buy the
real deal from him, he has reallly good prices

    best of luck
