I'm looking for a piece of software that is capable of producing very
professional slide shows. I would like to be able to have music playing in
the background, have it fade in and fade out, and not necessarily have the
music tied to a specific slide or to the entire slide show. I'd also like
to be able to have voice-overs. What I have in mind is still photography of
"events" with the ability to add sound files of various types. I'm also
looking for the sound software which is capable of recording in (at least)
stereo. Dolby surround sound would be even better. Any suggestions?

  2. Go to http://www.macromedia.com/ I have seen some excellent presentations generated with
    their software.

When a Ltc. retired in our office, our graphic artist rendered a presentation that
incorporated WAV, JPEG and a MPEG (that I captured using a video capture card and a VHS tape
his wife provided.) I'm not sure which application he used (MX ?) but the result was
    awesome.

Look at ProShow Gold from www.photodex.com or DVD Pictureshow from
www.ulead.com. Lots of transitions, add sounds, incorporate videos
    etc.

Try Slide Show Ultra Gold available from www.cmbsoftware.com
I enjoyed using it and I think it covers all your needs. Good luck!
