I'm looking to buy a slight warming filter for a wide angle nikkor
    with a 77cm filter size.

Which filters should i be looking at to avoid vignetting and ghosting.
Can i use a standard filter or does it have to be slim....?

I'm told that a standard lens cap will not fit on a slim filter. How
    can you cover/protect them....?

    Thanks in advance,

When you purchase the brand B+W the cap is included with the filter.

one thats now surplus to requirements.

Nikkors have a large enough filter size to exclude vignetting hence the
    large filter size.

    Hi Joe,

IMHO you should get yourself a Tiffen 77mm threaded 'series 9' adaptor and
then buy the series 9 filters. Tiffen make good quality filters used mainly
for Film & TV work. More expensive than say Hoya or Cokin .. but _much_ more
    durable and better quality.
