These days with the use fo torture, ignoring international law and
killing civilians in police actions they are more like China in Tibet,
    N. Korea etc

It did... 9/11 was the THIRD RETALIATION strike. The other two were
embassies. The attacks were flagged in advance. (Not the actual
targets) and were in retaliation for US forces killing many civilians
around the world in other peoples countries over the preceding years.

BTW the US is NOT seen as the worlds policeman by any one but some
people in the USA. This is why there is so little real support for the
    US in Iraq or Afghanistan

The US, having lost in Iraq, now wants another 20,000 troops in the UK
when the rest of Nato is looking to pull out all 10,000 non-US troops.
BTW of the 10K about 9K are UK forces.

Bush completely screwed the position of the US in the world it has been
beaten militarily and had crashed economically.

  4. I said it right at the start when Blair was trying to persuade the UK
to follow the US into Iraq, and was trying to persuade Bush to wait
for UN backing. Not because I'm a well educated follower of middle
Eastern politics, just because all the well informed commentators were
saying then that the case the security services were making in both
the US and the UK had been cooked up to support what their political
masters wanted to hear. It had all the hallmarks of a hastily
half-baked con job. The fact that so much of the US population
actually thought Saddam had been behind the WTC attack only added to
the farcical absurdity of the propaganda campaigns.

Once again when asked you can't support your stupid position when asked to.
Hell Ray you are not even good at name calling, what are you good for?

As I recall over 80% of the UK population was against going into
    Afghanistan and Iraq.

    Incidentally re:
The UK security services (below the political levels) were leaking that
they were AGAINST going in to Afghanistan in 2001-2.

Exactly so. You know about this? You can't be a real American :)
That would be a very good posting. I can tell you that from personal
    experience. I love the area.
    Etc, Eta, Etc, :)
Good Call... You and me with a 750K USD budget pa :) That is small
enough to be under the radar for a decade or two and no one would ask
    any questions.
    Too right :)))))

Errr. A secret place the majority of the US population know nothing
about.... its called The Rest Of The World has a free press that
communicates. Being a free press and wide ranging nothing stays secret
for long. And if one side spins a story the other side will show the
spin... however The Rest Of The World does not have two sides, black or
white but many sides and shades of grey (and colours too :- )

SO yes it is THAT obvious.

BTW a friend of mine who worked in both the USA and the USSR said that
they difference between the general population in the USA and the USSR
was the Soviet population knew when they were being fed propaganda (even
if they said nothing) but the US citizens rarely realised (even though
they had a lot to say about it)

  9. Thanks very much. I decided to call them "snapshots" because some
people get really snobbish about what a "true" photograph is. I
wanted to avoid the controversy but this thread has become a monster
    regardless :(
Nice photos! I bet that if you went again that you could still
    capture those scenes again.

  10. Again, thanks. In terms of foreigners, all I saw were NATO ISAF, UN,
    journos and embassy staff!

Another unimpeachable source of What's Really Happening. It's amazing
how every one of Chris's mates can go to a country and immediately
determine everything about everyone in that country.

him that Americans are not well informed.

Typo... Don't know what you mean :)
(actually I have spend time in the area)
No thanks. Might actually have to do something... Andorra or
Catalonia/Aragon/Navvara is a much better bet. Sun. Relaxed and not
likely to be shot at. Though there is a possibility of bombs once in a
    blue moon.
Good job too! Lets go down to the Chestnut Tree Cafe for a Gin and have
a nice game of Chess, Winston.....

That is why a posting there for a team of two with a 750K USD budget is
    a good idea :- )
I think most threads need killing off... the Internet went downhill in
the mid 1990's when they let the masses in.

there on a 750K USD annual budget to keep an eye on them just in case.
after all it was then wot blew up all them trains in spain.....

    I was being humorous
Well I though you would pick up on it.

Good luck. I prefer Schipol and Amsterdam to the main alternatives.
The only problem is the new runway.... it is a 20 minute taxi to the
terminal!!! Have a look at google maps.
    http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&ll=52.325163,4.746952&spn=0.075434,0.
    145569&t=h&z=13

The new runway is west of the A5, next to the N205.... in some countires
you could get a flight between the two :)
