soligor 2x teleconverter for nikon

Can anybody guide me how good Soligor 2x Teleconverter is for Nikon AF
lenses? I have 28-80mm and 80-300mm G lense for which I am thinking of
buying Soligor 2x teleconverter that I found on ebay.

Please guide. I am on short budget and I don't have any clue on
Soligor TC.

Soligor is a cheap converter. Using any converter on consumer
type zoom lenses will degrade quality so much as to be
worthless.

 

I don't have any experience with those particular lenses and personally
I am generally not all that critical, but I would be very suspect of using
even a very good teleconverter with a zoom lens. Generally zoom lenses
don't have the ability to stand up to the additional demands when using a
converter. BTW my experience with Soligor converters is that they are far
from the best. The ones Nikon sold were much better and much more
expensive.

unfortunately most of the third party teleconverters are truly bad

if you really want one, save up for the Nikon, better yet .... save some
more for the Nikkor 80 - 400 VR
