  1. Achewly, I meant that they 'related to you', as in they saw you as a
    friend rather than a photographer..

Way back when I used to do this stuff, it didn't take me long to
realise that if you can get everybody onside, the whole experience
becomes much easier and better for all. So I developed/stole a number
of little tricks to ensure I wasn't the 'enemy'... eg partially
setting up some shots and then inviting all the other camera-holders
to have a quick go before I did the final arrangement and got what *I*
wanted... (O: That led to helpful and cooperative congregations,
which made life so much easier!
Try here for a really good sampling - he seems to like the D3, with
    bloody good reason:

Keep posting, Mick - your stuff is also inspiring, both artistically
    and technically.

Altho nothing will inspire me enough to go back and shoot weddings
    again... (O;

  3. Cheers Mark,

Yeah I do the same with the letting them get their shots first, though I
have noticed there are getting more and more of them, so sometimes you just
have to step in and say sorry guys we are losing the light so we have to get

I am in 2 minds about the weddings, sport is pretty tough and not as
regular, commercial needs a heck of a lot more marketing. There is a lot to
be said about specialising. I do enjoy shooting the weddings, it's the post
wedding work that kills me, I need to find a good editor and album designer
    in Melbourne.

Poor Dog sure has a short memory, looking at the link he posted that
just on 2 months ago. In that short time he has forgotten how to add
    emails to a killfile.

    Sucks to be Doggy
