Sonic Foundry Vegas - Soundproblems with Mpeg2 Files

Discussion in 'Professional Video Production' started by jostvonharlessem, Mar 31, 2005.

  1. I cant import the sound of Mpeg2 files into Vegas. I just get the
Videopart - Anyone know what to do about it? I guess I have to get
Vegas to demux the sound from the files.

Because the audio is an AC-3 stream, you need a decoder for this.
Some folks have used BeSweet (et the GUI version) from
    http://dspguru.doom9.net/ successfully.
    I personally like AC3Decode from http://www.users.on.net/~rsobon/ac3dec.html
Be sure to aet the output codec to PCM - 48 KHz 16 bit stereo and select the
convert to wav option before doing a conversion.
