Just thought I'd share that I purchased a DSC828 in the USA, cost about
half the price of it in Australia - the reviews on DPReview.com were not so
great, but I've had the camera now for a month and completely happy with
the quality and features. I tried both the Dimage, Nikon, and EOS Rebel all
in the 6-8mpixel range, I hated every one of them. Specially the EOS Rebel.

I come from a SLR background and found this camera to cover everything my
    Nikon F60 28-200mm can do.

Here's an example picture I took 4cm from a geko at 8megapixel and cropped.

    a happy customer!

Its not a bad camera, it just has small annoying problems like most other
    cameras.

Had you seen the Pentax istD or the Olympus 8080 you might have come to a
    different conclusion.
