I've had the above camera for ages. It's a 5 MP model, so I was expecting
    good results.

Sometimes it takes crystal clear photos, and other times, it takes really
    blurred poor quality photos.

Does anyone have one of these cameras, who would care to offer some tips?

    Cheers.

  2. Is this guaranteed checked more than simply the automatic focus focussing
    on the wrong object?

  3. As it has EXIF data on board, compare the following:-

Lens zoom setting / aperture / shutter speed

for each of the 'good' and 'blurred' pix.

My bet is camera shake first[1], focussing next.

[1] Just seen this referred to as 'jitter' in a camera manual. Quite a
    good term really!

Some newsgroup contributors appear to have confused
the meaning of "discussion" with "digression".
