I am getting a Sony DSR-PDX10 , mostly because of the native DVCAM
mode, but I am confused about what tapes should I use: miniDV,
miniDVCAM with chip or whithout chip?
I understood there is no picture/sound quality difference between
miniDV and miniDVCAM tapes, so why should I use the more expensive
    DVCAM tapes?

You only need to use the DVCam tapes if you are going to use them in a
linear editing system. If you are using NLE, then go with the least
    expensive Sony mini DV tapes.
