    Hi All.

I was wondering if there was a way to delay the standby time on DVCAM
decks like the DSR-1500, 1800s, etc. I am a master control operator at
a small local tv station and we mainly us DVCAM. The problem we are
finding is that when we go to cue up a tape, if we wait a few seconds,
it goes into standby and sleeps. We have to wake it up at least 10
seconds before we go to air with it, because when it wakes up again it
drifts at least 5 frames. I know this is probably protection for the
tape, but was wondering if there is an option or anything that can
    help?

    Thanks
    Mark

In the level-1 menu go to tape protection and increase the time. They
call it tape protection but it's really to save the video heads of
    excessive wear.

If you don't have an engineer the manual is a available online.
