I would appreciate it if someone could let me know the difference and
share some experience as to which one would be best to use.
    Thank you

  2. In the short term, the results are identical. The EX is rated for
2db more signal/noise, but this is unlikely to matter in digital
unless/until the signal is becoming marginally readable (long-term
or poor storage). I use EX for mastering; PR is OK (or much
more...) for single-use - and in 80-minute lengths, only PR is
available in the US. Forget the chip in the EX - buy it without
    and save money.
(BTW, I prefer not to mix tape brands, to avoid the possibility
of head-clogging problems from mixing lubricants.)

  3. I've used Panasonic PQ (professional Quality) tape from Tape Resources,
seems to work great with my JVC camera. Also tried Panasonic MQ, thought it
was pricy and a bit of an overkill.. for digital signal, I don't think it
really matters which tape you use, but higher quality tape is better for the
    long run.

  4. Some people report head-clog problems *especially* when mixing
Panasonic tape grades (which may have lubricant-type incompatibilities...).
