    I have a 10-GB MPEG-2 file that I recorded using a capture card. Is
it possible to use TMPGEnc to split this file into 4GB segments? If
so, is it possible to tell it where exactly to break the files and
    start the following one?

I know that the program can be used to join several smaller files into
one larger one, but am wondering if it will work inversely (as
    mentioned above)?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

In theory, yes. In usage, I've found it to be very slow and unreliable
when it comes to cutting MPEG files, especially VBR MPEG-2 ones.

I would suggest you look into Womble's MPEG2VCR
    <http://www.womble.com/vcr-text.htm>. I believe they have a downloadable
trial version on their website, so you can test for yourself if it works
well for you before you shell out your hard earned cash.

Mediaware's M2-Edit Pro works well also, but costs a ton more. Mediaware
also sells a lower-end product called MyFlix XE that may do what you wish.

More info can be found here: <http://www.dvdrhelp.com/edit#18>.

DVD X Maker and Nero Xpress Vision now cut sections quite reliably and
    quickly.
