Wasn't it you and the other members of the alt.photography NG gang who
    accused me of name calling?
You didn't follow that advice when you and the rest of the gang attacked me.
Again you say one thing and do another just as you did when you and the
other gang members attacked me. UC don't believe any of this crap that this
prevaricator is saying. He's just shining you on.
    Film best,

(groans) It starts...... Let me see, where have I heard this tune before?
Don't tell me, let me guess. I've got it, right here in this very same NG!

Slightly off topic but neither film or digital "is best" each has it's
advantages and dissadvantages. I always say use the correct medium for
the job, be it film or digital.

Feel free to ignore the "me" troll. He has been killfiled by many here, and has
absolutely nothing to offer this group. He just rants continuously about how he
thinks "film is best" - when most people would argue that it's simply one of
many available mediums. When people convey this logic to him, his ego takes a
hit and considers it a personal attack.

Fascinating, perhaps you could explain what the advantages/disadvantages
    are.

  10. Can I officially apologise for starting this thread. It has ended up an
    insult fest.

Anyways, thanks for those who provided tips and advice, I am away to start
    trying things out.

For those who visited www.thegallops.net and posted emails of praise -
    thanks,

    David

You have nothing to apologize for. We have a couple of immature miscreants
in the newsgroup whose only purpose in being here is to disrupt otherwise
normal conversations. It's not your fault, it's theirs. Ignore or killfile
them, and you'll find the group a lot more pleasant, and certainly won't
feel the need to apologize for starting threads, which is exactly what this
    newsgroup is for! :)
    No problem, good luck!

Do yourself a favor. Go get a film camera, preferrably a Leicaflex, and
    get on with your life...

David, meet one of the aforementioned miscreants I mentioned. I recently
unkillfiled him to give him a second chance, after some reasonably
intelligent discourse he put forth, but I guess that was just a temporary
affliction, and he has now regressed back to his regular intellect.
Killfile away - I know when I've made a mistake.

  14. Why did you say this? There was nothing in my post in any way
    offensive....

Ditto. Somehow, he escaped my killfile, so I unkillfiled him when I read his
reasonable reply to my post about B&W film. He's been killfiled again not long
    after.

Because your advice was atrocious, as if you didn't read anything he wrote
about his situation. You're not a prick like "me", but you do have a
one-track mind, and your advice is always a "one size fits all" deal.
    Film-based Leicas for everyone!

I'm sorry, but I don't think your purpose here is to genuinely help others.

Actually, I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt, since we don't
really know one way or the other. It turns out that it sounds more like a
management communication misunderstanding than anything else.

As you say, I just try to be fair. Part of that is talking to each person
about themselves, not others. So, one message to you, and a different
    message to him. :)

I use ezprints.com, and I think they just print what I give them, how I give
it to them. Anyway, the results are always consistent and are basically
what I expect. I honestly don't know the ins and outs of printing, but when
printing from digital, everything else being equal, isn't it pretty much a
    what-you-see-is-what-you-get deal?

  20. David, meet one of the aforementioned miscreants I mentioned. I recently
ok, he knows his advice is contrary to my equipment. I fear this poster
craives attention that you all give in response to his posts. Silence is
best. Uranium you are entitled to your opinion, but give it just the once.
