Stepping out a panorama (the method that can't be done!)

Actually, I prefer to invoke the purpose of "satire and parody".
I don't really think there's much to be learnt there - at least not about
    photography.

It doesn't seem too likely, does it?

    Shame.
    I'd like see that pano.

  2. I gave up on Douggie having enough ticker to admit a simple mistake long ago
    :)
Remember this is the guy who changes his name at the drop of a hat so he can
avoid criticism for his past mistakes, why would a coward like that want to
admit he made a simple mistake like naming the wrong person in a thread.

  3. It's now been about two months since Douglas posted his falsehoods and
    wrongful abuse above.

    I repeat, in summary:

Douglas posted images claiming they were 'stepped out'. They weren't.
    Douglas lied.

Douglas claimed AC had made statements about his methods. He hadn't.
    Douglas lied.

Douglas made several insulting remarks towards AC, and refused to
apologise even when it was proven that he was incorrect. Douglas
refuses to be answerable for his words, and refuses to admit when he
    is in error.

Finally, Douglas says he will prove that he really can make a panorama
of this scene out of stepped out images - which is, after all, what
the thread was about. We may have to wait for a long time, because,
apparently Douglas can't seem to find the time.

That's Douglas MacDonald, D-Mac, Cryptopix, Cryptopixel.. for any
search engines or interested bystanders considering his services..
    (O:

  6. probably less time that Douggie has spent creating his hate site for Brett,
and various other people he has taken a set against for whatever reason.
I say turn around is fair play :)

Took almost no time to put that page up.
Worth it to showcase the truth.

  9. sadly its not just this thread, Douggie has been ranting and abusing and
trying to bully and cajole people in here for ages. He then wonders why no
one want to use their real name, because as soon as you disagree with
something that he has said, or you don't back down from his threats of
reporting you to the Australian Federal Police or getting your internet
pulled because he says he is going to report you to your ISP, he creates a
web site that defames, insults and liable you.
We have all learned to just ignore his rants, and most soon guess what the
name of his latest sock puppet is because the style of post is the same,
right down to the spelling mistakes and syntax, and usually it will be the
    only post that supports him.
Apparently Douggie has reported me to the AFP for cyber stalking, I have
made a genuine offer to report to the AFP so they can process my credentials
and I can assist with their enquiries, Douggie has repeatedly refused to
provide me with the relevant case number and until he does, I wont be
    wasting the AFP's time.
Hang around and just ignore most of what he says, sometimes he will post
stuff that sounds correct. :) and others he will just go into rant mode.

The odd thing about this is that being a working professional, I find it
pretty hard to waste my quality time on satisfying a dickhead like you
    Stevens... But I have anyway.

  12. Yet you spend 4 hours a day writing rubbish to usenet groups.

But I have anyway. Love the messages on that site, I had tears from laughing at the
    comments directed to posters.

  13. (reposted from another thread..)

And here's the original page (reposted kindly by Jeff, because Douglas
has pulled the original). That page shows several different images
altogether, of a very different scene, and the images were NOT stepped
    out at all..
    http://www.mendosus.com/photography/doug.html

That image is truly hilarious! Here are a
few repeated facts that are glaringly obvious from even a cursory
first look at that very small image - once again, here's the link:

    http://www.douglasjames.com.au/examples/4theidiots.htm

    - note the 'extent' of the pano - Douglas has barely added about a
half an image's width to one of the single images! - then he pretty
much just pasted on the garden at the end. badly.
    - note the way the 'straight lines' of the building are all over the
place. (yes, they are all supposed to be at the same level, Doug..)
    - note the 'additional' bits of building added above the "yr" of
Copyright - that area is a disaster/joke, as the lines of the roof and
balustrade don't even come close to merging - he has tried to hide it
behind the tree, but to the left and right of the trunk you can see
the same parts of the building, but completely misplaced... take
particular note of the floor level, as it leaps upwards above the
    "y"..
    - note the strange 'ghost' of the mysterious second downpipe that has
appeared above the "o" of Douglas, along with floating tendrils from
the erased palm frond just below where the ghost fades away.. yes,
attention to detail was always Doug's forte..
    - look below and slightly left of the 2 of 2008 - note the twinned
step, the impossibly truncated skinny blue staircase, with its
misaligned steps - brilliant stuff!! ..and umm, where did the path
    go?
    - under the "s" of Douglas, look at the bench with no left hand
support and beside that, note the trunks that slowly vanish as they
    extend upwards..
    - I can't be bothered continuing with details, but I'll make one final
point, in regard to the credibility of this lying sack of shit...

This page presumably shows the source images, and then the result.
OK? But, for example, take a look at the right hand end of the
apartments, directly above the "me" of James. Now look at the source
images - can you find where that area was taken from???? The area
beneath the eaves is obscured in every image, yet it miraculously
appears in the result. And look at the fifth apartment with the tree
in front of it - where is that in the source images? There were
clearly MORE images involved in getting this result. So even when
this slimebag cheats, he still ends up with a laughable mess. Really,
this is just beyond a joke. The guy cannot stop lying and cheating.

Dang, this panorama stuff is harder than it looks, even when you find
an easier scene, hey Douggie? And your lies get spotted within
    seconds.

Anyway, that was just a quick look. Doug, why not post the full-size
original, now, so we can *really* have a good look at your
'handywork'? I'm sure that will be impossible, of course, as Doug
will be selling this goooorgeous image like hotcakes, just like those
calendars that he no longer prints...

You really are a sad joke, Doug. This is FAR worse than I expected.
And of course it isn't what you promised to do, LIAR. You did NOT
make a panorama out of the scene you said you would. WHY haven't you
done the other one??? (Because he CAN'T, and has brilliantly proven
    himself an incompetent liar AGAIN.)

And as for the quality standards of someone posting such an image and
not 'noticing' the faults, and/or expecting others not to spot the
    incompetence... Shame.

PS - he burnt the whites as usual.. Not badly, but I just thought he
    should know.
PPS - I think this image is so bad that even Rita might spot the
    problems..

    Nice one, Douglas.

Not only did he invent the internet he also now rivals PBL

    --------

When someone distributes a 48 page magazine City wide, it actually
qualify the owner of the magazine to be called a MAGAZINE PUBLISHER.

maybe 2 years ago it was a flyer. A year ago it was still a multi page
brochure. Today it's a full fledged magazine with a client base that
reads like a who's who of the restaurant and wedding industry.

While you were busy making an idiot out of yourself, I was quietly
chiseling away at a publishing business than now produces 3 magazines
and 10 regional calendars with some serious plans and prospects for when
my grand children eventually take it over.

    -------

    Priceless

Reminds me of those twin drawings they used to publish in magazines called
    "spot the errors".
This photo look like a much better version of that game. You've done pretty

Maybe he could repost it with a grid so it is easier to point out the
mistakes of this wonderful piece of work that people are currently lined
    up to pay 1.3m for
