stitch

Does anyone know any good programs to stitch together multiple images to
create panoramas and larger images made up of many photos?

Preferably forlinux.

Any hints on taking photos for such a purpose?

I am running panotools with the PTAssembler front end from Max Lyons. It is
working flawlessly and is not all that hard to learn.

PS:

One reason I like PTAssembler/Panotools is that I dont have to worry about
tripods, tilt, etc.---Just fire away. PTAssembler is also great for
verticals and mosaics.

The Kremlin panorama was made from 8 shots taken while hanging out of a
hotel window. I was lucky to get the thing at all---much less worry about
tilt.

If you want to have objects in the foreground, then you need the
tripod-rotate around the nodal point thing---or lots of screwing around in
Photoshop
