I'm trying to photograph a series of glass trophies. Mostly clear, some
minimal overlays of coloured glass, and writing etched into the surface of
the glass. The whole thing is probably 80% clear.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to photograph these?.
Some test photos I took didn't bring out the writing properly, and looked
very flat. Plus, the glass surface doesn't "take" very well.

I've got a variety of filters, and the capacity to set up some fairly basic
    lighting set ups.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

Redwing Lighting Cocoon, made by Bowens.

The small one starts at about $125, medium size about $200

Try placing a large piece of black cardboard on one side close to the
glass but out of frame.. this will show up as a "shadow" on the glass
    giving it body and shape.
