    Hello.

Can anyone recommend any models of SVHS recorders to me that I should be
able to pick up used on places like eBay for a resonable price?

I was looking for something that has six heads and good quality with a
jog dial. Are there any particular models from JVC, Panasonic etc that
    you would recommend?

The Standalone MiniDV models that JVC made that may also be dual
MiniDV/SVHS, does anyone know if they have the ability to playback NTSC
tapes or will they only work with PAL for UK models? (I have a U.S. NTSC
    Canon MiniDV camcorder).

For the few VHS tapes I wish to archive and/or digitize, is it best to
do that to MiniDV (analogue pass through?). And then any I need to put
into computer based format (probaby lossy) then to just transfer via
Firewire? Would this help retain the best possibly quality?

I was only going to archive and also transfer to computer a small number
of VHS and I generally need better quality VHS Recorder anyway for
playing back the rest of my tapes when I wish to and I also had other
planned uses for it to. The things I was going to archive and transfer
are not things already available in other formats.

    Thanks.
