I recently was re-downloading my DV tape collection to a new huge hard. What
I noticed during hours of sitting nearby is that sound comes later than
video. The different is significant, maybe half-a-second or maybe a little
bit longer, no chances to evaluate. Just saw that somebody starts talking,
then sounds comes. I have no idea what's the real reason, maybe the audio
stream should be buffered before it becomes written and available for
monitoring, and but I guess it's normal and when I reviewed the DV files the
sound was perfectly synchronized. Am I right?

Is it just happening while watching the capture view? i.e. it's only during
the capture that it "appears" out of synch, but playback on the camera and
playback of the captured AVI are OK?

Yes, that's happening only when I download video from the tape to DV files
and preview the video at the same time. When the file is downloaded all DV
    files are synced correctly.

I get something similar, but the video lags behind the audio. I've never
paid it much attention because the captured AVI is fine.

  5. Yeah. Don't worry about bad synch when monitoring a transfer as long
    as the result is OK.
