    Dear all,
I'm trying to create a 'target-on-map' video effect.
Briefly it should be a map with a square target moving on it; then the
target stops, blinks and the map is enlarged (zoomed) in the pointing
    location.
I guess I can use Macomedia Falsh to do that, but I want a video as
    output...
Antbody has some suggestions? Which sw should I use?
    Thank you in advance.

  2. What sw do you normally use for video editing?

    I'm just a beginner...
Up to now I've tried evaluation version of Pinnacle Studio. I've played
    with MS movie maker too...
I had a look at adobe premier web site ant it seems a powerful sw, but
it costs 999$ and I cannot spend so much...
I'm used to work with open-source sw (openoffice, gimp, ...) but it
seems it doesn't exist a powerful free sw for video editing.

I'm a java programmer and I also thought to implement it manually using
java2d API... But the problem is that there's no good support for video
    output.

    What do you suggest?

    Thank you a lot.

  4. The "elements" version of Premiere is ~ 1/10th that price.
Isn't there a way to export video from Macromedia Flash?
Maybe you should define what you mean by "video"?
Is it something for a web page? Something to be edited
into live footage onto VHS or DVD?

    Thank you so much.
I'll take into consideration "Elements" for my work.
Yes, it's a DVD video composed with pictures and movies.

I'm going to dig into detail adobe products features to discover if they
    suite my purposes!

    Thank you again.

You certainly can use Flash. Just export frames from Flash and compile
    them in any editing program.

  9. There are several, a search at download.com will turn up choices. some
other options would include imovie and Final Cut Express on the mac,
    Avid Express on the PC,
Alam DV, VirtualDub, A film strip done in Photoshop, pure animation
done in any of the stop-motion animation programs like Blue Marble or
Aztec, etc. or an animated gif done in Lemkesoft graphicconverter,
hell, you could make this animated target on a map thing using
POWERPOINT, if you wanted to prove some point. it wouldn't be my first
    choice though.
