Nearly 9Mpix and they choose to call it "4K resolution" ? - I blame
    marketing.
    YES YES YES YES!

When they are $50 a piece, I'll dump all my framed pictures and get a
bunch of these things to replace them. Continuous high resolution
digital front-projection will be awesome. The system will be connected
to my X10 lighting control system so it can translate real-time color
temperature information + daylight data to keep the images perfectly
    balanced.

Actually, I could do similar today - bung the photos onto slides. All
I need now is to find inexpensive, low heat, very small (need not be
bigger than the slide + halogen bulb), silent slide projectors.

Every digital projector I have seen has had at least as large an issue with
heat as any slide projector I have seen.

Its not marketed to the megapixel crowd. For that you will have to
probably wait for products from Trust and similar. Chances are good
it will be "interlaced" and not real megapixels too.
