techniques for picking up eggs?

I may be having to change nest material for the next several days, due to
repeated contamination of the nest with fiberglass brought back by the
parents.

The eggs are probably the most delicate things I've handled in recent
memory. Any thoughts, besides "very carefully", on how to pick them up?

Use the Elliptical Marquee tool to isolate the eggs. Copy them to their
own temp layer, they are no more fragile than your every day chicken eggs
but (human) artifacts should be avoided at all costs. Use Eraser tool to
eliminate said contamination. Flatten.
