  1. Oh, and one more thing.

    Here:
    http://groups.google.com.au/group/rec.photo.equipment.35mm/msg/c164f128a07655a7
it is revealed that Douglas (posting as 'Julian', but we won't tell
anyone) was ripped off by Fred Miranda.
    Julian states:
Someone should tell Fred, I guess, and ask him to pay Douggie his
    dues.

And remember, every time you "stair Interpolate" (I think the
capitalisation is a trademark..), it's all because of Doug.

Is there some reason that every time I see Doug's name, I think of Dr
Evil? Maybe it's the "use" of "quotations", maybe it's just the whole
    deal..

Doug's achievements are the stuff of legend - I may dig up a few more
    if anyone is interested..

Does Julian still work for him?

Why aren't school children being taught about this Doug person?

His early efforts (before Genuine Fractals ever existed)
What name did he develop it under so I can do a patent search on my
    works database.

I have read the two links to groups you have posted and have noticed
they are posted in the same manner with the same spelling mistakes and
punctuation and lay out. Are they by the same person?

The only math Douggie and his daughter ever worked on was seeing how
many times 35 could go into 9.

That's possible, no LOSS of quality. Exactly the same as using a microscope
    on the postage stamp :)

As usual it's all in the definitions.

But can a microscope add detail that is not in the image?

Not IMO, but I never said that, and you'd need to define "detail" :)

Why would he, detail is detail, if it wasn't there in the original then
Doggo can "create" it.................... That means detail from nothin' man
and that makes him a God.

There are an awful LOT of gods then. Anyone can "create detail". ACCURATE
    detail is another matter.

  12. Yep. They are all posted by Doug using some of his 100+
sockpuppets... The (almost) full list is posted at numerous
locations, just search on Ryadia, Julian, Sarina, D-Mac...

He's a sad case. Apart from the really obvious attitude, the
characteristic spelling errors, and the undying levels of support for
himself as well as referring to his-truly in the first person, his
sockpuppets are often undone for a different reason... He simply
forgets he has a sock on his hand, and signs them off as "Douglas"...
    (O: Eg:

    "Sarina"
    http://groups.google.com.au/group/aus.photo/msg/04e42d25cbf33dfe

    "Graham Hunt"
    http://groups.google.com.au/group/rec.photo.digital/msg/eba93b147842c106

    Woops.

LOL. It's amazing how often these MPD sufferers actually trip themselves up
this way. Springy does it all the time in aus.tv.

  14. Off topic. But the last link goes to an.. er.. interesting post about
interpolation, by a 'Kiah MacDonald". (O:

"Julian", like most of Doug's socks (also his daughter apparently, see
below) disappeared and was never heard from again after a rash of
supportive posts, and an embarrassing incident where he claimed he was
studying at (it later changed to 'working for') the University of
Queensland. He referred to a faculty that didn't exist, and UQ even
issued a statement denying that anyone of that name worked or studied
    there. Julian (who sometimes misspelled
his own name as 'Julain') went very quiet at that point.
    Incredible oversight, I agree.
Back in those days he was using the Douglas MacDonald name, the
'Techno Aussie' business name, and his daughter allegedly was Kiah
MacDonald, posting as One Million Pics, eg here:

    http://groups.google.com.au/group/alt.graphics.photoshop/msg/b03b4c4f666abbc7

....and sounding *remarkably* familiar!! (O: Kiah disappeared from the
scene entirely after a few posts, and has not been seen/heard/
mentioned since. It's a worrying trend, all these disappearing folk
who are related or friends of Doug's...

Why can't you wait for that? (Because it would mean you're earning well in
    excess of half-a-million a year?)
