    Hello all,

I have a recipe for Kodalk: it calls for 0.692 grams of borax and
0.145 grams of NaOH. Apparently it makes a one gram batch of said
Kodalk. I added the numbers up and in total this recipe makes only
    0.837 grams of said Kodalk.

What's up? Am I missing one ingredient?

    Thanks in advance

One aspect that distinguishes chemical reactions from some others is
conservation of mass. Some aspect of your explanation is missing.

Sorry... never thought of the water reaction since nowhere was water
    mentioned in the formula...
