  1. It's a matter of personal taste. I like to be able to detach the
    camera quickly when I move to a different shooting position, then I
    re-attach the camera. This minimises the risk of damage to the
    camera. But I could manage OK without the quick release, just by
    taking greater care.

    It is if all your head use the same QR Head. And the 222 grip action head is
    very good with a mono pod as It leaves a hand free for secure holding

  3. Actually, of course, what I (also) mean is that I must make sure the QR
    is the same for both Tripod and Monopod!! My tripod QR is not a
    Manfrotto..... :-(

  5. Having tried one, plus a similar head on a Slik tripod, I was very
    disappointed, because the camera position changes wildly as you move
    from portrait to landscape. Also, they are nowhere near as rigid as
    the 234 head.

    But someone must buy them ...
