Just recieved my Sony TRV22, the manual explains how to do analogue
passthrough to a pc but I want to record the analogue input on the mini DV
tape without connecting to a computer. Any help please?

I've not got analogue in, but it should be really simple, you just
plug into the analogue inputs and record i expect. You may have to
select external image somewhere in the options too?

Don't be afraid to experiment with the cam's functions, just dont go
plugging cables into ports you don't know :)

First make sure that the connection you have is for the right direction. For
instance, if you are trying to transfer from VCR to AV-in, the supplied
Scart to jack lead will not do. You will need to purchase a scart connector
with IN/OUT switch on it so that you can select the OUT mode to connect the
video and audio to the RCA connectors which are then connected to the
supplied 3xRCA to Jack cable. Then see page 94 of the manual for the correct
keys to press (basically FN - PAGE 3 REC CTRL REC PAUSE start the
VCR and then press REC START

Looks like the scart lead was the problem.

    Thanks
